Sylvain Kockmann
As part of the Responsible Sourcing team, Sylvain supports a range of clients to help them meet their legal requirements as well as sustainability commitments when sourcing agricultural commodities.
Sylvain provides advisory services to a portfolio of clients in the agricultural and agrifood sectors to support them in their goals to meet sustainability commitments and legal requirements. This includes supporting them to establish and implement systems for responsible sourcing and associated activities, such as policy and tools development, engaging with supply chains, training delivery and verification audits.
Sylvain has been working in the agricultural sector and food systems since 2009. His successive experiences with an NGO, a financing agency and a consulting firm allow him to have an overall understanding of the agricultural value chain sectors.
Within a rich ecosystem, he has conducted a wide scope of missions and projects in close collaboration with public authorities, international institutions, agrifood companies and producers’ organisation. He has especially supported the definition and implementation of public policies and private companies in their local supply strategy.
Sylvain joined Preferred by Nature in 2023.
"As an agronomist, I am committed to work that has a positive impact on the environment and contributes to the resilience of food systems. Supporting fair and inclusive long-term partnerships amongst the stakeholder value chains is essential to build sustainable ecosystems. In this sense, I am convinced of the relevance and synergies of the activities developed by Preferred by Nature. I am enthusiastic to be a part of the team and put my skills to good use."
