Shuang Hu
Shuang Hu is a Sustainability Specialist at Preferred by Nature. He provides advisory services to a portfolio of clients in natural resource sectors, including timber, pulp and paper, and rubber.
Shuang helps companies meet legal and sustainability requirements by conducting risk assessments in accordance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and other relevant legal frameworks. His work includes performing gap analyses, establishing and reviewing due diligence systems, and auditing corporate internal programmes.
In addition, Shuang carries out both desk-based and on-site audits, evaluating organisations against established standards such as Preferred by Nature certification and the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) certification.
Prior to joining Preferred by Nature, Shuang worked with certification bodies, focusing on FSC COC and EUTR audits and accreditation management. He also gained valuable experience with an international environmental NGO, where he worked closely with stakeholders and managed forest conservation and restoration projects.
