Huang Rui (Rick)
Rick is responsible for providing FSC FM and CoC certification services in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.
He manages the forestry certification process for a subset of Preferred by Nature clients. Other responsibilities include providing good customer service, reviewing reports and ensuring quality control for clients in East Asia. Huang Rui also provides PEFC, SBP, and Legal Source certification services in the East Asia region. In addition, he also works on projects that support legal timber trade.
Huang Rui earned his bachelor of Forest Resource Conservation and Master of Forestry with Honours from the Northeast Forestry University. He has five years’ experience in forestry, including two years of academic work in the field. Prior to joining Preferred by Nature, Huang Rui worked as Forest Certification and Fair Wild Programme Manager at the International Cooperation Department of China Standard Conformity Assessment Co. Ltd.
Previously, he worked as a Sustainable Development Department Commissioner of APP (China) Forestry and a Forest Resource Investigator at the Inventory and Planning Institute of Jilin Province.
Huang Rui is a qualified FSC FM, FSC CoC, Sustainable Tourism and UTZ auditor. He has conducted over 150 audits in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand.
