José Galván
José is responsible for overseeing technical staff that provides certification and verification for FSC and other services to Preferred by Nature clients in Mexico.
José provides administrative support to project management. José also provides support to other day-to-day activities in operations management of Mexico, including management, financial and other tasks.
He ensures customer service is delivered to current and potential clients by providing information, and guidance on certification process, trademarks’ use, marketing, and many more. Occasionally, José conducts FSC and NMX audits.
Prior to becoming an FSC auditor, José collaborated with the public sector and Mexican government on a programme for community forest management aimed at strengthening the management capacity of the communities by providing training and technical assistance, and to identify development projects and create community forest enterprises.
He studied Forestry Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, and obtained a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. José joined the Rainforest Alliance in 2010 as a lead auditor.
He joined Preferred by Nature in 2018.
