Darius Stončius
Darius is responsible for FSC Chain of Custody and Forest Management assessments and audits at our Lithuanian office.
Darius holds a Master’s degree in Biology and PhD degree in Ecology and Environmental Sciences.
Since 1995 he has been working for environmental NGOs in Lithuania. He coordinated forest related activities, acted as Project Manager or participated as an expert in a range of nature management, biodiversity conservation projects including promotion of responsible forestry among private forest owners in Lithuania.
Over the last 16 years, Darius’s main focus is on forest biodiversity research, inventories of woodland key habitats, protected species, forest conservation and management, impact of forestry.
Darius joined Preferred by Nature in March 2017.
"I consider Preferred by Nature as an opportunity to use my knowledge and experience for further improvement of forest management across the region. At the same time it’s a possibility to get understanding of the entire wood sector in Lithuania and what does it mean in a broader context."
