Forest Certification Specialist

Britt manages a portfolio of clients in western US and Canada that work with FSC Forest Management and Controlled Wood Standards and FSC/PEFC/SFI Chain of Custody Standards.  

Brittany’s work at Preferred by Nature focuses on sustainable forest and land management, forest product traceability and peoples’ rights and interests. She is responsible for overseeing certification services for a diverse group of organisations across the US and Canada to Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™), Programme for the Endorsement Forest Certification (PEFC), Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) and Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) standards. Brittany is the technical lead and program manager for SFI Chain of Custody and Certified Sourcing services and supports select projects in advisory and tailored sustainability services involving forest resources. 

Brittany is a Certified Forester with the Society of American Foresters, trained at the University of British Columbia. Her past work experience includes forest and rangeland management, ecological monitoring and small-scale regenerative agriculture. She has worked with federal government and non-profit agencies in the US, and forest consulting companies in Canada. Her special areas of interest are social forestry, restoration ecology and silviculture. 

Brittany joined Preferred by Nature in 2018 and is based in British Columbia.
