Icecream with a touch of frog
Need something good to cool you down on a hot summer's day? Buy a Magnum icecream and support responsible land use, for the benefit of the environment and the local people who produce the cocoa used for the delicious icecream coating.
Magnum Icecream is running a stunning campaign for its new Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM brands at the Oxford Circus tube station, one of the busiest junctions in central London. The entire station has been re-decorated to make visitors feel like they are walking through a rainforest. Magnum is the UK’s number one ice cream brand.
Magnum Icecream is a Unilever brand, and the launch of two new chocolate ice-creams made with cocoa from Rainforest Alliance certified ™ farms - Magnum Ecuador Cocoa and Magnum Ghana Cocoa - is part of Unilever's efforts to reach its ambition of sourcing 100% sustainably produced cocoa by 2015.
Magnum is just one of a number of influential consumer brands that are promoting the Rainforest Alliance frog as a mark of responsible land use. In a number of coutries, the seal is very visible, e.g. on chocolate, Kenco coffee and Lipton Tea in some of the largest supermarket chains. It is promoted by McDonald's, German airports, several airlines, and other influential market players with a huge consumer interface.
The Rainforest Alliance Certified Seal on wood products
As an FSC/Rainforest Alliance certified company, you have access to use this prestigious marks alongside the FSC logo on your certified products and in promotional materials. The seal was used in more than 1,000 materials produced by FSC-certified companies last year in the US alone.
"It is clear that the interest in the seal is increasing in Europe as well", says Iben Kirk Grøn, Trademark Manager at NEPCon. "As European consumers increasingly recognise the frog logo, the value of the seal is growing tremendously".
