The SFI is a forest certification programme in North America, aiming to ensure responsible management of forest resources while balancing environmental, economic and social needs.
The programme covers a wide range of criteria and indicators that address various aspects of forest management, including conserving biodiversity, safeguarding water quality, community engagement, and ensuring worker safety. The standards provide guidelines for forest owners, managers and companies involved in forestry activities to follow best practices and continually improve their operations.
Preferred By Nature is an accredited SFI certifier by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC), which are SFI-approved international accreditation bodies. Our services include carrying out audits according to the SFI Forest Management (including the Small-Scale Forest Management Module for Indigenous Peoples and Families), SFI Chain of Custody, SFI Fiber Sourcing, and SFI Certified Sourcing Standards.
