Edgars' main role within this position is to uphold Preferred by Nature’s mission to support better land management and business practices that benefit people, nature, and climate, and contribute to identifying, pursuing, and implementing opportunities where Preferred by Nature can have a positive influence in line with this mission.
Edgars' main responsibilities include providing certification and support services to a portfolio of businesses n the Latvian forestry and timber sector. This includes auditing against the FSC Chain of Custody and FSC Forest management standards, to assess a company’s due diligence system and measures put in place to avoid sourcing controversial timber. This also includes auditing against PEFC Chain of Custody standards.
