Aleksandra Leszczynska
Aleksandra is involved in Landscape Enterprise Networks – a project financing nature-based initiatives for resilient agricultural landscapes. She is always keen to exchange with all stakeholders to learn their perspectives and try find common solutions.
Aleksandra combines her professional experience from non-profit and business environments, focusing her interest on sustainable land use and private climate finance. She is a graduate of interfaculty Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and Mathematics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
After a few years of experience in an engineering company, she moved to Guatemala to support smallholder specialty coffee producers. While helping farmers access international markets, Aleksandra developed a deep interest in agriculture.
Recently, having lived in Polesia she discovered the beauty and importance of peatlands and got involved in their conservation and restoration.
"Development shall not be mistaken for profit maximization. I hope to see a decline of intensive farming in favor of sustainable agriculture which can provide high quality food, protect soil and water, ensure producers’ livelihood, and make our landscapes beautiful again."
