Due Diligence Toolkit

Supporting your organisation in responsible sourcing

In today’s world, businesses are increasingly required to adopt responsible sourcing practices to combat global challenges such as deforestation, climate change, biodiversity loss and human rights abuses.

To support organisations in this journey, Preferred by Nature has developed the Due Diligence Toolkit, drawing on our Sustainability Framework. This framework integrates key sustainability principles across commodities and landscapes and serves as the foundation of the toolkit. It also supports organisations in achieving Preferred by Nature Certification through a risk-based approach, ensuring alignment with both environmental and social standards.

The framework and due diligence toolkit have also been aligned with the due diligence requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Whether you’re just beginning to develop a due diligence system or looking to enhance an existing one, our toolkit offers step-by-step guidance, ready-to-use templates, and expert resources to help you manage risks and ensure responsible sourcing.

  2. Information & supply chains

  3. Assessing risks
    • Learn how to assess sustainability-related risks in your supply chains, covering a range of social and environmental topics. Tools such as supply chain risk analysis templates and deforestation risk assessment guides will support your analysis.

  4. Responding to risks & impacts
    • Understand approaches to addressing identified risks, with tools to help you manage risks through supplier verification, document evaluation and the use of certification or other assurance systems.

  5. Transparency & reporting
