Join us in Berlin to prepare European businesses for a future with the EU Deforestation Regulation

By Julie

We are proud to announce our event ’Rising to the challenge - get ready for the EU Deforestation Regulation’ taking place on the 14th of June 2023 in Berlin, Germany. This one-day event will address the imminent European Union (EU) regulation on deforestation and its impact on businesses.

The event, which is part of the EU-funded LIFE Legal Wood project, will bring together key industry leaders, experts, companies and stakeholders to discuss the implications of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in informative and interactive sessions led by industry and regulatory experts. The sessions will provide comprehensive insights into the regulatory framework, its requirements, and the challenges and opportunities it presents. Attendees will also learn about the tools and solutions available to help businesses navigate the complexities of the EUDR.

“The EU Deforestation Regulation is part of a developing trend to incorporate responsible trade, and more sustainable land-use practices, into the regulatory framework. The regulation requires businesses to contribute their part to global efforts to combat deforestation. However, implementing some aspects of the regulation will not be easy, and companies also do not have a lot of time to prepare”, said David Hadley, Director of Preferred by Nature’s Regulatory Impact Programme.

“This seminar is intended to get companies fully started on that journey to full compliance”, added David.

The "Rising to the challenge: get Ready for EU Deforestation Regulation" event is a unique platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among industry peers and stakeholders. By attending this event, participants will be ahead of the regulatory curve and align their operations with sustainable practices.

Registration for the free-of-charge event is open, and interested participants can find more information and secure their spots by visiting the sign-up page.

The event is hosted at Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center, Axel-Springer-Str. 55, 10117 Berlin, Germany.
