Guille
Nobody has been working for FSC longer than her.
She joined the organisation shortly after the foundation of the Forest Stewardship Council in Montreal back in 1993.
She has been the mainstay throughout the years since then, while Directors and other staff members have joined and left – sometimes in fast rotations.
She started as manager of finance and administration, and later on she was appointed as Head of the Director's office:
Guillermina Garza del Toro – among FSC staff and friends called Guille. She has been responsible for arranging all FSC’s general assemblies since the first ordinary assembly in Mexico in 1996.
The event in South Africa was her assembly number five in a row. “With children its get easier every time, but that is not the case for FSC general assemblies”, she notes. She is talking by experience – during the years with FSC and in between the general assemblies she has raised her twins Valeria and Tabriz.
Guille says that this was the last FSC General Assembly to be organized by her. However, she has told that before, so who knows....! An FSC General Assembly would certainly not be the same without her.
