CW motions update
Throughout the GA, the CW motions have been repeatedly amended, changed, tweaked and tuned.
The voting on the CW motions supposed to take place on Thursday was postponed until Friday as Social Chamber members had asked for additional clarification.
Motions 23 and 24 were submitted just seconds before the deadline for amendments on Thursday evening after general satisfaction had been expressed by social chamber representatives.
Motion 23 requires FSC to explore the following options: total elimination of the CW; improving the existing CW concept or developing an alternative to the CW system. Deadline for the results is the next General Assembly.
Motion 24 addresses the need to immediately ensure rigorous implementation of the existing CW standard and specifically highlights the main areas of concern such as origin documentation, risk assessments etc.
Together these motions address both short- and long term concerns regarding one of the most controversial components of the FSC system. Support seems to be growing for both motions. Friday will provide the final answer.
