On December 6, 2022, the EU reached an agreement on a new law to prevent companies from placing commodities linked to deforestation and forest degradation on the EU market. The law has included due diligence requirements for large traders and exporters in the EU, therefore increasing the need for transparency across supply chain actors, internal and external to the EU.
Join our upcoming workshop to open the conversation on how service providers might collaboratively engage with each other to identify and address some of the foreseen impacts of the EU Regulation, in order to better support organisationsto comply with these requirements.
From consulting firms to GIS actors, including data management platforms and auditing companies, we will aim to present a picture of the challenges service providers will face and initiate leads on how to tackle them.
We will open the debate on the potential need for a level-playing field in terms of approaches, methodologies, tools, best practices, etc. As supply chain information and outcomes of due diligence processes will increasingly need to be shared across supply chains, the question of fostering transparency and finding means to communicate reliable information is also key...
…and you might have already identified other relevant implications on your side, which is great as we are aiming to discuss the potential avenues to address these challenges in a very interactive way. There will be space for everyone to participate, including discussion in smaller groups.
The webinar is set to take place on May 2nd, 2023, 10.00am to 12.00pm CEST via Zoom.
