Sustainability in Practice - EUDR & Carbon Footprint Management

The EUDR mandates that businesses engaged in trading these commodities and their derivative products, who place these products on the EU market, must conduct due diligence across their value chains. This due diligence aims to ensure that goods do not originate from recent deforestation, forest degradation, or violations of local environmental and social laws.

As this requirement applies to any operator or trader placing these commodities on the EU market or exporting from it, it's crucial for affected companies to assess their supply chain due diligence to ensure compliance with the Regulation. This preparation has now become urgent, with the new obligations taking effect from 30 December 2024 onwards.

Our in-person seminar will feature discussions on the challenges and solutions related to the EUDR, traceability and EUDR implementation. You will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts and regulators and gain insights into the latest developments, key challenges, and how organisations are gearing up for the EUDR, along with the tools to support your compliance.

To provide a comprehensive seminar, we will also delve into climate-related aspects, specifically focusing on carbon emissions reductions. Additionally, we’ll explore carbon footprint management from the perspective of the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise.

We will also introduce the Preferred by Nature Sustainability Framework, which operates as a universally adaptable framework. The framework employs a risk-based approach to evaluate critical sustainability issues based on the commodity, region and scale of activity. It draws inspiration from various international sustainability schemes and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the EUDR.

The seminar is designed based on our work with businesses and smallholders in over 100 countries and from more than 30 EUDR events we have conducted worldwide – engaging with various actors in the global supply chains of impacted commodities.

Don't miss this chance to network with peers and experts, and engage in discussions that will support you in aligning your practices with the Regulation’s requirements.
