Preparing for EUDR: Solutions for forest and timber sectors
Explore solutions for aligning with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) at our upcoming seminar in Lagerhalle, Osnabrück. This event provides an overview of the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) EUDR solutions, along with guidance on integrating these into your certifications.
With the postponement of the EUDR enforcement date, companies now have additional time to identify the solutions that best suit their needs. Certification schemes can play a significant role in helping to prepare for the alignment with the EUDR requirements.
Both FSC and PEFC have introduced EUDR solutions and IT tools that enable certified companies to voluntarily add EUDR requirements for data collection, risk assessment and risk mitigation. Certified companies can also transfer claims to their customers, confirming that products comply with additional EUDR due diligence. This helps customers meet their EUDR obligations.
Companies also benefit from annual third-party auditing of their due diligence system for certified products. Meanwhile, IT platforms facilitate efficient information sharing, such as geolocations, across every link in a certified supply chain.
The seminar will outline FSC and PEFC requirements, detailing what you and your suppliers need to implement these systems. You’ll also hear about upcoming developments designed to streamline the implementation process.
For resources outside FSC or PEFC certification, Preferred by Nature has created complementary due diligence tools to support compliance efforts.
Who should attend?
This seminar is designed for companies in the forest, wood, paper, and biomass sectors impacted by the EUDR. It is particularly relevant for those already FSC or PEFC-certified or planning to achieve certification. Stakeholders from forest-related supply chains affected by the EUDR will also gain better insights.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to network and exchange experiences with other companies, fostering connections and shared learning in addressing EUDR challenges.
The seminar will be conducted in English, with translations available in German and Dutch.

We’re excited to announce our first guest speaker: a representative from the Helpdesk on Business and Human Rights. This free support service, provided by the German Federal Government, offers advice to companies on implementing environmental and human rights due diligence processes. The Helpdesk plays a key role in assisting businesses with developing deforestation-free supply chains, including guidance on the legal requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and its practical implementation.
