Meeting EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements for the coffee sector

Explore the critical implications of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) for East Africa’s vibrant coffee sector at our upcoming seminar in Addis Ababa. This free-of charge event promises in-depth insights and practical strategies tailored to ensure alignment with this transformative regulation.

The EUDR will significantly impact East Africa’s coffee sector. In 2022, 41.5% of the region’s coffee exports were destined for the EU, and East Africa accounts for almost 10% of global coffee production. Compliance with the EUDR requires rigorous due diligence, traceability and legal documentation. The large share of smallholder coffee farmers in East Africa adds complexity, as ensuring traceability to farm level and verifying coffee sourcing from non-deforested land are considerable challenges.

To safeguard East African coffee’s continued access to European markets and protect the livelihoods of local farmers, it is crucial for companies in the coffee sector to implement measures facilitating EUDR compliance.

Join us for our upcoming seminar where our expert speakers will share insights and actionable solutions designed for coffee producers navigating the challenges of EUDR compliance.

This seminar offers a unique opportunity to dive deeper into the regulatory landscape shaping the future of East Africa’s coffee exports. Participants will gain access to expert knowledge, practical strategies and networking opportunities.

The session will also include a Question & Answer segment, allowing participants to engage directly with our experts and clarify any specific concerns.

Who should attend?

Coffee industry professionals, exporters and stakeholders committed to sustainability and market compliance are encouraged to participate.

Whether involved in coffee production, processing or export logistics, this event is tailored to provide essential insights for stakeholders to align with EUDR requirements.
