Using the trademark

As an FSC certificate holder, you can use the FSC trademarks:

• On-product: to label your certified products by printing the on-product label directly on the product or its packaging. You can also use stickers, hang-tags, or metal plates for on-product labeling.
• Off-product: to promote your company and its certified products by incorporating the FSC logo and relevant claims into various company materials. Examples include your website, stationery, email signatures, price lists and product catalogues.

You will also gain access to the FSC Trademark Portal, a user-friendly platform that allows you to create customised FSC labels for on-product labeling and promotional purposes.

Trademark use approval

To maintain the integrity of the FSC brand, certificate holders must adhere to the FSC Trademark Standard and seek approval for each use of FSC trademarks before making them public. Only those with authorisation from a Trademark Agent can utilise the FSC Trademarks.

For FSC certificate holders certified by Preferred by Nature, the Preferred by Nature Trademark Portal is your go-to resource. Submit trademark requests, upload graphics and track the status of all your cases with ease.

How to submit a request

1. Log in to the Trademark Portal. Click on the link to the Certificate for which you wish to submit a trademark request.
2. You will be directed to a screen with a box in the top right corner labeled 'Submit a Trademark Request' – click 'Next'.
3. Fill in all required information and select appropriate options related to your trademark use. Click 'Next'.
4. Choose the correct label and product type, then upload the artwork related to your trademark use. If you are submitting a website link, include it in the 'product type description' section. Click ‘Next’.
5. Click the ’Finish’ button to complete the trademark request process.

You will receive a confirmation email with a trademark case, and one of our trademark agents will promptly follow up on your request.
