This membership in the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) positions us as one of the key players in shaping the future of responsible soy production.

This membership in the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) positions us as one of the key players in shaping the future of responsible soy production.

Preferred by Nature is delighted to announce our recent membership of the RTRS. This places us within the largest global multi-sectoral platform for multistakeholder dialogue, dedicated to fostering a responsible and transparent soy supply chain.

RTRS sets standards for responsible soy production and trade, ensuring that affiliated products adhere to stringent sustainability standards, including deforestation-free practices.

As a member of RTRS, Preferred by Nature will connect with industry peers and experts and actively engage in major joint decisions, contributing to the creation of improved conditions for responsible soy production on a global scale.

We firmly believe that developing soy standards collaboratively with stakeholders enhances our collective impact.

“Soy is a key crop for global food security and biofuel production, serving as a vital source of vegetable protein and essential ingredients for animal feed. But it also poses both environmental opportunities and challenges,” shared Ariel Zorrilla, Director of Preferred by Nature - Brazil and Soy Commodity Lead at Preferred by Nature.

“We want to support sustainable growth and use of soy, and we are excited to work with RTRS and other like-minded partners to achieve this goal,”

RTRS´ mission addresses pressing challenges in the soy sector, employing an inclusive, consensus-based process to establish standards for Responsible Soy Production and Chain of Custody. The RTRS Standard for Responsible Soy Production ensures sustainability by meeting rigorous environmental criteria and a comprehensive set of social and labour requirements.

In 2020, RTRS achieved recognition by joining ISEAL as the first certification standard focused on the soy supply chain to become an ISEAL member. This underscores RTRS's commitment to transparency, improvement and meeting the highest industry standards.
