Ruth provides organisational oversight and support in the development, maintenance and monitoring of legal processes.
One of my favorite things about working for Preferred by Nature is the opportunity to collaborate with such a diverse group of people from around the world that share similar values. Together, we are making strides toward environmental conservation and sustainability, which are causes I have been passionate about since childhood.
Ruth develops procedures and provides guidance on best practices for Preferred by Nature legal agreements. She coordinates the review, negotiation and approval of agreements and monitors agreement activities in Salesforce. In addition, she supports in a variety of areas such as risk management, quality assurance and compliance with certification and accreditation requirements.
Before joining Preferred by Nature, Ruth worked for Rainforest Alliance on the RA-Cert Quality Assurance Team with maintenance and improvement of their global certification systems. Prior to that, she worked as a legal assistant in law firms with complex litigation in state and federal courts and was Chair of the Sustainability Committee at her last law firm. Other background includes work in floristry, with the US Forest Service and as a tour guide in Alaska.
As a travel and nature enthusiast, she studied abroad in Costa Rica, lived in Chile and hiked from Canada to Mexico on the Pacific Crest Trail. Ruth has also volunteered with several organisations focused on environmental conservation, community improvement and human welfare.
