Adolfo supervises the teams providing certification services in Mesoamerica (Mexico, Central America, The Caribbean, and the Guianas) in forestry, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
Contributing to responsible management of natural resources for improving the life quality of the engaged people is my professional goal, and I had found in Preferred by Nature a great group of dedicated colleagues working towards that too. Hence, I am honoured and happy to be part of the Preferred by Nature team!
Adolfo began his career in Peten, Guatemala, working for the Guatemalan Council for Protected Areas (CONAP), where he helped to establish the community concessions’ model for co-managing extensive forest areas within the Mayan Biosphere Reserve back in 1998.
He had also worked for a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) called Fundación Naturaleza para la Vida, as well as for CARE and Chemonics in developing natural resources management projects.
Adolfo has a BSc in Environmental Management Systems from Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge, LA, and a MSc in Environmental Engineering from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse, NY.
He joined Rainforest Alliance (RA) in January 2004, and had been working in certification teams since then, until his integration to Preferred by Nature in October 2018.
