The free-of-charge webinar will provide an update on the latest developments and deliver guidance on how to protect supply chains against illicit trading as required by the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR).
The webinar is hosted by Preferred by Nature’s timber legality experts who are joined by officials from Denmark’s Competent Authority, Miljøstyrelsen, and representatives from Leroy Merlin, the retailer, who will share their experience in managing timber imports from Russia and Ukraine under the EUTR.
The event will be held in English and is scheduled for 13.00 to 16.00 CET on 28 April 2021.

The tentative agenda includes:
- Update on the latest developments in Russia and Ukraine relating to timber legality.
- Introduction to tools for risk mitigation in supply chains in Russia and Ukraine.
- A Competent Authority’s perspective on supervision and timber legality under the EUTR.
- A company’s first-hand experience in handling timber legality and supply chains when using Russian and Ukrainian suppliers.
Preferred by Nature has received funding from STARK Fonden and the European Union’s LIFE programme in support of this event.
This workshop is a part of a series of events supported by partners in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. About the European Timber Regulation (EUTR)
The European Timber Regulation (EUTR) is a legal code to promote legally sourced and sustainably produced wood and wood products sold in the European Union (EU). The EUTR requires all users to implement due diligence systems to assure responsible sourcing. The EUTR was accepted by the European Parliament in October 2010 and has been adopted by all 27 members of the EU together with Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway.
